Tuckahoe Families,
Many of you may have noticed that TES was included in a press release and social media posts this weekend. I am honored to announce that Tuckahoe Elementary has been recognized as a 2025 National Blue Ribbon Award winner. TES was nominated and awarded this honor as an Exemplary High Performing School and is one of only three schools in Virginia who received the award in this category. This is an incredible honor and a proud moment for our entire school family. The recognition reflects the daily dedication of our teachers and support staff, whose commitment to high expectations, collaboration, and care for every child makes excellence possible. It celebrates our students, who rise to challenges with curiosity, perseverance, and a love of learning. Just as importantly, it belongs to our families and community partners, whose trust, support, and engagement strengthen our work every day. This award affirms that when educators, students, and a community work together with a shared vision, extraordinary things can happen.

Picture Day Make Ups and Retakes Tomorrow
Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13th is our scheduled day for make-up pictures for students who were absent on the original picture day, October 15. Strawbridge Studios will also do picture retakes on that day if for some reason you are unhappy with your child’s pictures. Pictures will be taken between 8:00-10:00 AM.

Your child will have a picture taken on January 13 to be included in the yearbook.

Do you want your child’s picture retaken due to poor quality?
Return the entire packet of individual pictures by January to your child’s teacher.
You may keep the class picture if you purchased one.
The teacher will make sure your child has his or her picture retaken if you return the original packet of pictures.
Did you forget to order pictures on the original picture day, and your child has already had their picture taken?

Half Day Lunch Order Form
On half-day school days, School Nutrition Services offers a program to ensure that all children receive a nutritious meal. If you would like your child to receive a bagged lunch prior to dismissal on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, please complete the form below no later than today. Bagged Lunch Order Form
TES Family Heritage Night
Unfortunately, we have not had many families or staff members sign up to participate in the Family Heritage Night planned for Thursday, January 22. The event has been cancelled, and the school team will determine if it should be rescheduled at another time this year.
