SSO Appreciation Week
This week we celebrate National Security Officer Appreciation Week. This national observance honors the security personnel who safeguard schools, stores, banks, concerts, and other community spaces. In Henrico, we use this opportunity to celebrate our School Security Officers (SSOs). These dedicated professionals play a vital role in creating welcoming environments for students, staff, and families, while demonstrating an unwavering commitment to keeping our schools safe. Thank you Mr. Scholz and Mrs. Dixon for your commitment to our students, staff and school community.
TES Named a Virginia Naturally Recognized School
Thanks to the hard work of Emily Albis, fifth grade teacher, TES has been named a Virginia Naturally Recognized School for the first time by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. The goal of this recognition program is to highlight the efforts of Virginia schools, to increase environmental awareness and promote sustainability. Thank you to our teachers for nurturing a love of nature and conservation in our students, and thank you to Mrs. Albis for writing the application for this award!
Gifted Resource Teacher
We are excited to introduce our Gifted Resource Teacher (GRT), Ms. Pricey Russell. Gifted Resource Teachers offer whole-class response lessons in the primary grades and support instruction for identified gifted students. GRTs also provide training to help teachers recognize advanced student potential and differentiate instruction. Our GRT helps nurture the unique talents of students across the school. This includes a range of activities, such as collaborating with classroom teachers, providing enrichment for small groups, or offering school-wide learning opportunities. We are excited that Ms. Russell joined our team and is supporting our school and students. Fifth Grade IB Applications
Attention 5th grade parents! The application process to the IB program opened on September 11th. Please CLICK HERE for more information regarding upcoming Open House events for the IB programs and other helpful information. We will also be posting updates on our School-Based Mental Health Website under the middle school information tab. More information regarding the application process will be coming in the next few weeks.
