Underclass Final Exams

All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will take final exams (The only exception is for students who participated in AP exams). Exams will be provided on paper and last 100 minutes and we will operate in a secure testing environment.

  • May 27 - 2nd and 4th Period Exam (1:00 Dismissal)

    • 2nd Period 9:00 - 10:40

    • 4th Period 11:20-1:00

  • May 29 - 6th and 8th Period Exam (1:00 Dismissal)

    • 6th Period 9:00 - 10:40

    • 8th Period 11:20 - 1:00

  • May 30 - 1st Period Exam (10:40 Dismissal)

Graduation Practice

All seniors who plan to participate in the Graduation Ceremony must attend all graduation practices.  We are the first HCPS high school to participate so we have to be ready!

  • May 27, 9:15

    • Seniors will receive caps, tassels, Parking Passes, and tickets after practice

May 28

HHS Graduation

  • Graduation will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 10:30 at the Henrico Event Center

  • All spectators must have a Parking Pass and a ticket

  • Seniors will receive at least 8 tickets

  • Graduation Photos are available through Strawbridge.com

Laptop Collection

It is imperative that ALL students return their laptop before leaving for the Summer Break. We need your help to ensure we reach 100% collection!

Library Announcement

Herm Library had a great year and checked out 8000 books, but now it’s time to return all of them!  This week the library will begin marking missing books as lost and generate bills for replacement costs for those books.  You can pay for lost books at the library, cash or charge.  

Engage RVA is excited to invite rising seniors in the Richmond area to apply for this year’s Summer Institute on Leadership and Public Service. This immersive two-week program is designed to develop leadership skills through a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on experiences, including a structured leadership curriculum, internships, and collaborative problem-solving exercises. Each year, the Institute focuses on a theme relevant to the greater Richmond community, with this year’s emphasis on Social Justice.

Summer Opportunities

Longwood’s Summer 2025 Dual Enrollment Economics and Personal Finance course will run from June 23 to July 26. Registration is scheduled to open on Monday, March 17, and closes on June 6. $50 Summer 2025 Longwood Dual Enrollment Flyer (includes a registration link and contact information).

Additionally, [LU] will once again offer a Fall 2025 course option. Please keep this in mind as you assist students with registration for next year. Fall registration opens in June, and the online course will run from August 25 to December 12. $50.  Additional details will be available in late Spring.  

KE CAMPS will be running a small program at the Lakeside Park Club in Richmond, VA for children aged 4-12. The camp will operate Monday-Friday the weeks of 6/23, 7/7, 7/14, and 7/28.  Please note that all employees must be at least 16 years of age by the time that camp starts. Class of 2026!

The Summer Institute on Leadership and Public Service is committed to empowering high school students to become ethical leaders who understand the impact of public service and civic responsibility. By engaging with current social issues and working alongside peers from various backgrounds, students will gain the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to initiate change and make a lasting difference.

The Summer Institute on Leadership and Public Service will take place on the campus of St. Christopher’s School. The institute will take place June 9-20 (no session on June 19 in recognition of Juneteenth). Each student who completes the program will receive a stipend.

YMCA Summer Camp

Through Camp Tuckahoe, we offer traditional day camp programming designed to provide campers aged 5-14 with the opportunity to explore the outdoors, build lasting friendships, and develop valuable skills in a supportive and fun atmosphere.

As we gear up for the upcoming season, we are currently looking to hire enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate staff members to join our camp dream team! We are seeking individuals who share our commitment to nurturing and empowering young people through the following roles: 

  • Program Assistant: 16+ y/o, no experience required, some childcare/outdoor adventure experience and interest preferred. 

  • Counselor: 18+ y/o, 6+ months of programmatic childcare required, outdoor adventure experience and interest preferred. 

  • Specialist: 18+ y/o, 6+ months of programmatic childcare preferred, specialty area/outdoor adventure experience and interest preferred. 

    • We're still looking to hire for archery, STEM, and nature specialists!

YMCA of Richmond

Unite STEAM L.I.T. (Leaders in Training) is a four-week, pre-collegiate summer experience for rising 9th-11th grade students. As one of Virginia State University's signature summer programs through the College of Education, this program encourages students to pursue college majors and careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM)-related fields through a program of focused hands-on rigorous academics, enrichment, and career exploration.

Unite STEAM L.I.T. will be held in-person on the campus of Virginia State University from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Mondays - Thursdays from June 2-26, 2025 (with an overnight field trip scheduled during the last week). All classroom supplies and lunch will be provided daily. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a $300.00 stipend.

    1. A copy of the scholar's current academic transcript (unofficial version is acceptable).

    2. A short essay (minimum half page, double-spaced, 12 pt. Times New Roman) from the scholar explaining why he/she would like to attend this program (e.g., what he/she hopes to learn/gain from the program, how the program will inform/impact the academic major chosen in college and/or his/her ultimate career goal, etc.).

Registration ends at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd. Applications will be evaluated, and decisions will be provided the following week. Spaces are limited, so don't delay...sign up today!
