Welcome families and visitors to Tuckahoe Elementary School! The school community values Tuckahoe’s high expectations and time-honored traditions. Many of our families boast three generations of TES school experiences! I am extremely proud to be the principal of a school with over seventy years of commitment to excellence.
I am a graduate of Auburn University where I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I also earned my master’s degree in education with an endorsement in administration and supervision from the University of Virginia. Over 20 years ago I began my career in HCPS as a classroom teacher. Years later I became the Associate Principal at Shady Grove Elementary School where I stayed for seven years before coming to TES as principal. This school year will mark my ninth year here at TES.
This year’s school theme, “Individually Unique, Together Complete” will help us highlight students’ social/emotional and academic strengths while focusing on teamwork, character building, and engaged learning. Students will make connections between the core values we recite in our Tuckahoe Motto and how we put them into practice every day. What we do today does make a difference!
At TES the administrative team, faculty and staff strive to create a safe, nurturing, and challenging environment for all students through engaging and interactive learning experiences. We look for ways to think outside of the box and extend our students’ learning through real world type instruction. Our dynamic and dedicated teaching staff is committed to ensuring the academic success of ALL students. We also believe that a strong home-school connection is critical in promoting student growth and achievement in school.
It has been a privilege to develop a continually improving academic and social/emotionally rich environment for our students. I also welcome your feedback as we strive to provide our students with a rigorous and deeply meaningful instructional program.
